Juneteenth Fest began in 2024 as Juneteenth Fest of the Pee Dee, the flagship celebration of BlaCoLive Cooperative. What started as a single community festival quickly grew into a movement. After its inaugural year, the celebration expanded into an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring freedom, empowering communities, and strengthening cultural connection across the Pee Dee and beyond.

While “Fest” originally stood for “Festival,” it now represents Festivities—reflecting our commitment to year-round programming.

At our core, Juneteenth Fest exists to celebrate freedom while promoting and supporting a more connected, empowered, and progressive America. Through cultural events, educational programs, and creative expression, we honor the past, embrace the present, and invest in a stronger future for all
